I soooo understand where u are coming from. I have been deeply in love with New Orleans since I was 5 years old. I have visited many many times throughout my years growing up. And now I am about to move to New Orleans for good this time. But this time I'm going to really seal the deal by planting roots and purchasing a home there. I am so overjoyed, i can't stand it. I'm 32 years old, and there's nothing i would want more than to live the rest of my life in New Orleans.

dear sloane, dear new orleans
thank you so much for your post, you made me cry as i also have loved new orleans since i first spent time in this beautiful city of my heart in 1992. . i have been back many times but not since the hurricane.
thank you, sloane, for expressing what i feel , it is a joy and a relief to know that others too are connected in love to new orleans. i want to come back to bad, i want to be a part, i am asking for life to help me make it happen.
thank you again in sharing your love for this mystical, wondrous place called new orleans.

I left New Orleans once for four long painful years. I learned a lot about the other world and it was treating me well, but I had the worst jones to get home and never regretted my return. Get a plan. Study neighborhoods. Priority one is to survive New Orleans. Pick a very safe place to live. Don't wait decades. When you are ready, come on down.

Thank you, really. I actually read this again and again too. I really can't believe I wrote this and knew NONE of you. How blessed and stars aligned to think I was able to come to New Orleans and be welcomed with such open arms. This letter literally changed my life. Can't wait to see you on Monday!
